Did you know that nearly 1/3 of food produced globally is wasted? And yet, according to a recent article in Indy Weekly, nearly 1 in 5 North Carolinians is food insecure.
There are a number of organizations, such as Raleigh’s own Interfaith Food Shuttle and Boulder, C.O.’s bike-driven Boulder Food Rescue working to combat issues of food access and distribution. This semester the Campus Farmers’ Market club, along with other committed individuals, hopes to bring a Food Recovery Network chapter to N.C. State!
